The value of any survey project is determined by how well the data are used. When designing the Illini Success initiative, we carefully explored how we could make the data meaningful and useful to a wide variety of audiences.
The annual reports and graduate success stories currently available on this website are just a first step in sharing the value of information collected via The Outcomes Survey. There is much more to come!
Data Portal for Administrators, Faculty, and Staff (Coming Spring 2017)
This spring, we aim to release a data portal for administrators, faculty, and staff at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This data portal will be password protected, requiring a login for access.
Once in the data portal, the tool will allow users to run queries of outcomes data by college, major and other key variables. The queries will produce reports to meet annual review, program review, and accreditation needs at a more customized level (e.g., department, major) than is available in the generalized annual reports available on this website. All data reports will be de-identified, meaning that no individual graduate’s data will be accessible. In fact, reports will only be accessible for sub-groups that contain at least 20 respondents in order to protect the confidentiality of respondents.
This portal will also include logistics information about timelines and materials for data collection for future graduation cohorts. This will help coordinate communication across campus, simplifying messages and information shared with students and graduates.
Career Exploration Tool for Students and Families (Coming 2017-2018)
But wait, there’s more. We are not leaving out students and their families – we are also building a new resource for you!
Coming in the 2017-2018 academic school year, we plan to release a new career exploration tool that will be based on the outcomes that actual Illinois graduates have achieved following their degrees. You will be able to enter search criteria (e.g., college, major, geographic location), and to see aggregated results on where Illinois alumni are working and going to graduate school. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting resource.
